about

Aviva Girl
Unknown artist, circa 1967
Soft Pop/ Sunshine Pop

1-sided EMIDISC label ACETATE / DUBPLATE by an UNKNOWN GROUP / ARTIST.

Quintessential swinging '60s mood music with that UK mod / psychedelic pop sound of the period. We have no idea who the artist / group is but the vocals have a distinctive English accent (albeit sung with an American twang) and the overall ambience has the air of a groovy and carefree product placement / novelty / advertising song.

An infectious tune with stomping R&B backbeat / jaunty piano vamps / cool lead vocals / scat and counterpoint harmony backing. We get a Kinks cum Herman's Hermits British invasion and even a west coast sunshine pop vibe too. The acetate has a generic Emidisc label with American publisher, Edwin H Morris written under the AVIVA GIRL title.

The acetate is housed in an Advision laminated die-cut sleeve. Advision was a London based studio who provided voiceovers and jingles for television advertisements. During the '60s, this studio also recorded the music of cult British groups including The Yardbirds / The Move / The Who and T. Rex.

Anyone recognise the group or song?

Possible unique one-off / inedit / un-released demo item. Rare 45!!!
